Best Season

Spring and Autumn

On a clear day, the excitement of flying into Kathmandu is breathtaking. A series of unforgettable moments that last with you for a very long time starts with the nearly orgasmic vistas of snow-capped mountain peaks stretching down below you. Our friendly Path2Asia support staff will receive you when your airline lands on the tarmac and take you to your hotel. Once you have finished the visa process and picked up your bags at the airport, please head to the arrival hall exit. You can find your trip leader waiting for you outside the arrival hall, and they will take you to your Kathmandu hotel.

    Max. Altitude: 1350m/4430ft

    Transportation: Private Vehicles

    Accommodation: 4 - Star Hotel

Helicopter Option: You can book a helicopter flight from Kathmandu to Lukla for an additional charge of USD 600 per person. It is the best alternative to avoid the long road journey to Manthali. The day before the flight, pack your bags for the journey. Flights to Lukla are usually offered from Kathmandu in January, February, June, July, August, September, and December, which are the off-peak months. Please note that the airline decides based on demand and passenger volume. We get up between 5–6 a.m. today. Our team will transfer you to the domestic airport, where you'll catch a 35-minute flight to Lukla. You are scheduled to arrive early in the morning at Tenzing Hillary Airport. We then begin our trek to Phakding. The path is simple - following the Dudh Koshi River as it flows downward. The trail joins the Namche Bazaar route just above Chaurikharka (2,713m). Moving ahead through the tiny village of Ghat, you'll finally reach your destination for today at Phakding village.

    Max. Altitude: 2610m/8563ft

    Walking Distance: 8km/5mi

    Elevation Gain: 1260m/4133ft

Continue along the Dudh Koshi River, hiking through dense pine forests. You'll pass through beautiful villages such as Zapute and Benka and reach Monjo, the entry point of Sagarmatha National Park - a protected conservation area preserving the Khumbu region's ecosystem. After crossing the park, you'll head towards Hollaru Bridge for a steep ascent. En route, enjoy majestic views of Lhotse, Nuptse, Kusum Khangru, and Everest. Overnight stay at a cozy tea house in Namche Bazaar.

The fourth day is reserved for rest and acclimatization to the lower oxygen levels. Take a short hike to the Everest View Hotel, where you'll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic vistas. You may also visit Thame (3,810m) or the National Park Headquarters to learn about the Sherpa culture and way of life.

Leaving Namche behind, enjoy magnificent views of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, and Mount Everest. The trail is rugged, so proceed carefully. Along the route, you might encounter wildlife such as musk deer, Himalayan tahr, and pheasants. After descending and crossing the Dudh Koshi River, trek through alpine forests to reach Phunk Thenga and then Tengboche Monastery, the largest in the Khumbu region. Explore the monastery before continuing towards Deboche for an overnight stay.

    Elevation Gain: 490m/1608ft

To reach Pangboche, follow the higher trail past mani walls, chortens, and Sherpa settlements. The hike follows the Lobuche River and leads into the Imja Valley, followed by a steep ascent to Dingboche. Along the way, you'll pass farmland cultivating potatoes, buckwheat, and barley. Today's trek is more demanding due to the higher altitude.

    Max. Altitude: 4,350m/14,272ft

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

    Walking Distance: 11km/7mi

Take time to soak in the incredible atmosphere, the Khumbu Icefall, and the surrounding Himalayan giants. After exploration and photos, retrace your steps back to Gorakshep, where you'll enjoy views of Pumori, Nuptse, and Khumbutse.

With the help of a headlamp, ascend gradually while admiring the dawn-lit Himalayas. From the top, enjoy jaw-dropping panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and surrounding peaks - a truly unforgettable sight. After taking photos, descend back to Gorakshep, where a Path2Asia representative will escort you to your helicopter flight back to Kathmandu. FAQs

"Luxury Everest Trek & Scenic Helicopter Return - 11 Days" frequently asked questions

General Info

You will require a passport valid for 6 months from entry, a copy of travel insurance and flight tickets, and two passport-sized photos.

After you make the deposit, you will need to provide details like your arrival and departure date. Our staff members will then brief you with additional information related to the trek.

We advise booking your arrival and departure flights in advance for smooth travel. It is also recommended that you add a day or two additional days during your intended stay in case of flight cancellations or delays. Please be aware that we will not be responsible for any inconvenience related to international flights.

There are no hidden costs or fees if you travel solo. However, you will be charged accordingly if you don\'t want to join a group and would rather book a private trip.

The EBC Luxury Trek cost can range from USD 800 to USD 5000, depending on the itinerary, package, and service included.

Guide, Porter, and Trek Permits

Yes, hiring a guide is an integral part of a successful trek, even if you have previous trek experience. A guide\'s expertise will help create alternative plans and arrangements for unexpected occurrences.

Our guide and staff speak English; their speaking skills are based on field experiences rather than formal education. Even though they are not as fluent as native English speakers, they will be able to communicate effectively.

Hiring a porter(helper) is beneficial as they will be responsible for your luggage. This will allow you to hike freely without physically straining yourself. A porter(helper) will carry a maximum weight limit of 22 kg for every two travelers. If the weight limit exceeds, you will be charged accordingly.

Tipping is an act of expressing gratitude for the hard work and dedication of the guide and porter(helper). We suggest tipping based on the number of participants in a group and consider allocating at least 10% of the tip for every traveler.

You will need a Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit (NPR 3300), TIMS (Trekkers\' Information Management System) (NPR 2000), and a Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit, which costs NPR 3,000 per head for the trek. We will arrange these documents on your behalf.
